A História de José
Daniel & Samuel
The Story of Joseph
I've been humiliated a lot, I've been knocked to the ground
Thrown into a pit, from the pit to prison bound
I'm the dreamer Joseph, a man who overcame
My story's one that cuts, it brings a lot of pain
I was just a kid, had a bond with the divine
And the dream of hope, it entered my heart's line
Because I was so innocent, I told my brothers all
Then it turned to a nightmare, bringing me to a crawl
When my brothers were playing, they didn’t want me around
In secret they plotted, so I’d be kept from the sound
They left me in the corners, and laughed if I cried
They made threats to me, if to my dad I confide
Even at lunchtime, if my mom didn’t care
If she didn’t put in the effort, I’d eat what was spare
They looked at me with hatred, if my dad gave me a hug
Then they hatched a plan, to end me with a shrug
Disguised, they took me, plotted to kill me dead
But not all agreed, to carry out what they said
They ripped off my clothes, and started to tear
They stained them with blood, to fool my dad with despair
They humiliated me a lot, I don’t like to recall
In an old dry well, they decided to let me fall
But soon they came back, and pulled me from that place
Sold me as a slave, in Egypt I found my space
In a strange land I stayed, facing all the danger
But in the king's heart, God found me a favor
I’ve been locked in the slave quarters, and faced my share of pain
But God always gave me grace, to not make enemies in vain
God gave me wisdom, I turned foes into friends
I became an authority, Egypt does what I command
I forgave my brothers, erased the old wrongs
Now I’m the governor, and they live with me strong
