A História de José
Daniel & Samuel
The Story of Joseph
I have been greatly humiliated, left on the ground
Thrown into a pit, from the pit to prison I was bound
I am the dreamer Joseph, a man of overcoming
My story is heart-wrenching, it's truly stunning
I was a child, in communion with God
The dream of hope entered my heart, a period so odd
Because of my innocence, I shared with my brothers
It turned into a nightmare, bringing many bothers
When my brothers played, they didn't want me around
Secretly they conspired, to keep me unsound
They left me in corners, smiled if I cried
Made threats, if to my father I confide
Even at mealtime, if my mother didn't strive
If she didn't insist, I'd only eat if I'd survive
They looked at me with hatred, if my father hugged me
So they devised a plan, to end my life, you see
Disguised, they took me, planned to kill me that day
But not all agreed, to execute the foul play
They tore my clothes, began to tear apart
Stained them with blood, to deceive my father's heart
They humiliated me greatly, I don't like to recall
In an old cistern, they decided I'd fall
But soon they returned, pulled me out of despair
Sold me as a slave, in Egypt, I was to fare
In a foreign land, I faced danger and strife
But in the king's heart, God arranged my life
I've been imprisoned, faced punishment severe
But God always showed grace, kept me near
God granted me wisdom, turned all into friends
Became an authority, Egypt on me depends
I forgave my brothers, erased past wrongs
Today I'm a governor, they live with me lifelong
