God Heard
Morning of silence
A woman in the temple goes to pray
And the priest Eli
Soon begins to observe
And she cries with head bowed, cries
Pouring out at the feet of the altar
The priest
Thought she was drunk
Because she sobbed
Nothing came out of her mouth
She just cries
With head bowed, cries
Pouring out at the feet of the altar
She was Ana, wife of Elcana
Who had no children
And a woman without children
Was humiliated without compassion
She was her own curse
Human waste without reason
Life had no meaning
She came to the temple to speak to God
And ask for a child
And she prayed in thought
For God could hear her thoughts
Her cry reached the heavens
At the right time, God sent the blessing
Answering her request
Samuel, God heard
Samuel, God heard
Samuel, that's her son
For whom God listened
Where there was sadness, there is joy today
Today those who never smiled are smiling
The weeping and suffering have ended
For those who only suffered
Where there was neglect and humiliation
Now there is respect and consideration
God entered the scene
And gave victory to those who asked
Who were humiliated, our God exalted
Who were despised, our God honored
And you too will be blessed
In the name of the Lord
Samuel, God heard
Samuel, God heard
Samuel, that's her son
For whom God listened
Where there was sadness, there is joy today
Today those who never smiled are smiling
The weeping and suffering have ended
For those who only suffered
Where there was neglect and humiliation
Now there is respect and consideration
God entered the scene
And gave victory to those who asked
Who were humiliated, our God exalted
Who were despised, our God honored
And you too will be blessed
In the name of the Lord
In the name of the Lord
