Nuestra Bandera

Our Flag
The flag of my homeland
Asks for forgiveness from no one
For being born fighting
In the hands of the runaway slave.
The nine stripes are free,
Not prison bars,
They are like rivers carrying
Freedom to the heart.
The flag of my land
Is not stained by the oppressor
Because this people does not tremble
And is the owner of reason.
Hand in hand with the humble,
Hand in hand and action,
May the flag return
To the hands of the runaway slave.
Blue and white in the air,
Always on the path to the sun,
Sun that illuminates the poor
As the protector wanted.
Stripes from top to bottom,
None wants to be superior,
They are all good companions
And long live equality.
The equality of my flag
Must be achieved on earth,
And whoever opposes it shall fall;
No one will excuse him.
I don't need advice
To love my flag,
For it I will give my life
And my heart when necessary.
But allow me, friend,
To notice how I give it,
That a flag bearer
Can also be a traitor.
Notice that the powerful
Often dress as a pawn,
Speak of shield and flag
And betray the homeland.
The equality of my flag
Must be achieved on earth,
And whoever opposes it shall fall;
No one will excuse him.
I don't need advice to
Love my flag,
For it I will give my life
And my heart when necessary.
Stripes from top to bottom,
None wants to be superior,
They are all good companions,
And long live equality!
