Meu Reino Encantado (feat. José Camillo)

My Enchanted Kingdom (feat. José Camillo)
I was born in a happy corner
Far away from the village
It was there that I lived many years
With dad, mom, and siblings
Our house was a big house
On the slope of a hill
A corral to separate the calves
And next to it, a big cattle pen
In the backyard, there was a wood-fired oven
And an orchard where the birds sang
A covered area to store the pestle
And the tools dad used
In the morning, I went to the corn crib
I picked an ear of corn
Shucked it and threw it on the ground
In an instant, the chickens gathered
Our well-preserved ox cart
Four pairs of top-quality oxen
Four yokes, sixteen bows
Leaning against the foot of the fig tree
Every Saturday, I went to the village
To shop for the whole week
Dad shouted at the oxen
I walked ahead, opening the gates
Our small farm, surrounded by large estates
We had to sell the property
To a big cattle rancher
And we moved to the big city
The longing left by my side
The farm became a colony
And my enchanted kingdom came to an end
Today, there are only three things there
That time has not yet erased
The old, collapsed shack
And the fig tree waving at me
And lastly, a longing marked
For a good time that has passed
Forgotten under the fig tree
Our old ox cart
