Low Cash (feat. Croockers)
No small talk, if I'm here today and I'm hyping myself up, it's because I'm struggling.
The daily grind is draining me.
I'm the president of the 'I'll pay you later' fan club, and we're in a bad spot.
I need a loan, no strings attached, ASAP.
The peak of my bank account is when it goes from negative to dead, from salmon to corpse.
My checking account sets sail and can't swim against the current.
I dodge payments and see everything in gray.
I hold onto good memories of my last bucks, but they're just empty boxes, shit you can't swim in.
And I love dreaming of the money earned, sweat like cash and coins in a marathon runner's pocket.
I make underground music because I was born on the margins. I'm too cerebral to come out rich and celebrated.
If I were like Pietro Maso, I'd easily make it to the end of the month, leave this hood and become a bourgeois.
And when night falls, I wonder, "How come everyone already has their career while I'm still waiting for mine, like the Jews for the Messiah?"
Growing up without a dad, taking his place, maybe that's why at thirty I'm still living with my mom.
Without cash, you can't go out, and I'm stuck here, nobody ever writes to me like I'm HTTP.
I hit rock bottom and dig deeper. By six, I'm already at the bar like Kareem Abdul.
A garden lower than the immigrants, but the most supportive ones say we're all equal.
Sooner or later, I'll ditch the sacrifice for Italian music and take a desk job.
And I'll make a name for myself, meet a woman who wants to be with a man who's made a name, to get a last name.
Jah doesn't care about my look, jah bless.
I look like an anime, but inside I have the flashes. Outside an elephant, inside light, like Ganesh.
And in my pockets, you see it, low cash.
Empty pockets like when I show the inside out.
But I hold on tight, Sandinista like The Clash.
But it's a tough life and I can't see the hour that ends.
Every day the same, every day is the same.
These bucks are so few that I watch them closely, I guard them like kids.
I waste time giving a name and a last name to every dollar.
