That's How They Betrayed Me
One afternoon I found myself
In a bar
With a loser
Drinking out of spite
In his eyes
You could see the sadness
And his face didn’t hide
The suffering
He was good
His gaze didn’t lie
But hatred drilled
Into his brain
"Come have a drink with me,"
Said the man
"I want to vent
My deep sorrows
I was fooled by the one
I thought was sincere and noble
With the one who
Gave us life from the same womb
The wounds they gave me
The traitors
Are guilty if I
Die at this table
One night when I was
Returning home
I saw clearly the betrayal
They were doing to me
In my bed there were
Two bodies getting cozy
To love each other
My presence didn’t stop them
A brother who
Life was tearing away from me
And an unfaithful one who
Was shattering my joy
How could I hold back
In that moment
If death was well deserved
For them
I felt so degraded
And so cowardly
Not killing them because they were
Blood of my blood
If the Lord gave me the
Courage to forgive them
They’ll both go to hell
While still alive
