Le Petit Pain Au Chocolat
Joe Dassin
The Little Chocolate Croissant
Every morning he bought his little chocolate croissant (aye aye ayayay)
The baker smiled at him, he didn't look at her (aye aye ayayay)
And yet she was beautiful, the customers only saw her
It must be said that she was really very crispy
As much as her croissants
And she dreamed melancholic
In the evening in her shop
Of that distant young man
He was just nearsighted but she didn't know (aye aye ayayay)
He lived in a blurry world where the clouds didn't fly (aye aye ayayay)
He didn't see that she was beautiful, didn't know that she was the one
That destiny sent him blindly to make him happy
And the girl who wasn't stupid
Bought glasses
For the chosen one of her heart
In the warm smell of pancakes and baguettes and babas (aye aye ayayay)
In the festive bakery, one evening they got married (aye aye ayayay)
All in white she was beautiful, the customers only saw her
And from their union were born lots of little nearsighted kids like dad
Gamboling among the brioches filling their pockets with little chocolate croissants
Tu lululu lululu
Aye aye ayayay
Tu lululu lululu
Aye aye ayayay
And yet she was beautiful, the customers only saw her
And when you think about it, life is very well done, it takes so little
Just a simple pair of glasses to connect two beings and make them happy
Tu lululu lululu
Aye aye ayayay
Tu lululu lululu
Aye aye ayayay
Tu lululu lululu
