Inmigrante

Immigrant
What can I find out there to do to leave
Everything I had that made me happy when I was alright
I miss seeing your smile and laughing with you
And I think about what you’d say if you could see
That pain means nothing without you here
For days I wandered and lost my way when I left
If they saw that no diamond today is worth more than what I lived
There’s not a day I’m not trapped wanting to return to my country
Turning my back on them, you’re still there
I’m an immigrant in my own land
I had to leave because that’s the only way I faced the war
I’m an immigrant even if I don’t want to be
I found pain when I lost you, my love, lost what I was
The present slipped away and I look for you in people, and you’ll never return
If I look back, I remember through tears why I have to fight
My passport isn’t what I got here, I can stay
A stranger in my land, I build a future dreaming it’ll be the same
I’m an immigrant in my own land
I had to leave because that’s the only way I lived through the war
I’m an immigrant even if I don’t want to be
I found pain when I had love, lost what I was
Searching in the sky for some day in January, maybe I’ll find you again
Sometimes I sing to you while I’m looking for the strength to fight
Laugh and start
Lose and win
Cry and laugh
Nothing’s the same, everything I had was taken from me just like that
I’m an immigrant in my own land
I had to leave because that’s the only way I lived through the war
I’m an immigrant even if I don’t want to be
I found pain when I had love, lost what I was
Everything I had that made me happy when I was alright, I miss seeing your smile and laughing with you.
