La Lección

The Lesson
For the gray days I have a tune
And for the depression when it gets out of control
I have a song that lifts my spirits
When the sky turns gray on me
I raise the volume just a bit
Until I'm happy
I repeat the chorus twice
And I keep making scars
And to the things that hurt a long time ago
I remember them with humor because they were
What made me who I am
I see that I'm learning to live more calmly
What doesn't add up doesn't pull the thread
And if I feel myself rising, I keep an eye out
So when I fall, I do it with style
And I can look in the eyes of what hurt
And I thank life for what it gave me
Because that's why I've learned the lesson
I value what I have
I come from the bottom
What wants to leave
I don't stop it here
By always doing good
I get what I want
My music heals you
And I sustain myself with it
And this song brings sunshine to my landscape
I travel light
And I'm willing every day to be better
I see that I'm learning to live more calmly
What doesn't add up doesn't pull the thread
And if I feel myself rising, I keep an eye out
So when I fall, I do it with style
And I can look in the eyes of what hurt
And I thank life for what it gave me
Because that's why I've learned the lesson
I want to walk barefoot on the sand
To give the sea the anger that poisons
And with a cocktail on the beach, laugh again
I see that I'm learning to live more calmly
What doesn't add up doesn't pull the thread
And if I feel myself rising, I keep an eye out
So when I fall, I do it with style
And I can look in the eyes of what hurt
And I thank life for what it gave me
Because that's why I've learned the lesson
For the gray days I have a tune
And for the depression when it gets out of control
I have this song
