Ao Pé da Cruz
Ereni e Débora
At the Foot of the Cross
At the foot of the cross, I found myself kneeling
And so bitter, such a scene I contemplated
The blood that was flowing, the pain He was feeling
I confess I cried
The hands there nailed, bloody wounded
I could clearly see
On that gentle face, the marks of sorrow
Without complaining
I could see the cruel crown
The horror of bitter gall
His side pierced
The painful nails
His merciful eyes, a just condemned
The voice that cried out to the Father
Begging, pleading for forgiveness for the sinner
Even almost dying, suffering anguish
Showing His love
I know, Jesus, it is I who deserved
Such agony, you suffered in my place
To bring happiness, to save humanity
You had to pay
A fabulous price, Your precious blood
Of immense value!
Such a scene I do not forget
Jesus, I do not deserve
Your forgiveness, Lord!
