Puede Ke Pueda
Fernando Delgadillo
Maybe I Can
If one day I told you
that rocking my leaves
was not an easy thing
and you did it with the desire
very sure to raise your own,
how could you change me like that,
you could make me part of you?
so much so that those two years of season
seem like spring.
When after so much verse
you gave me the yes with body and soul
we didn't delay in seeing what was
so great about loving each other, and it was beyond
what is prescribed by those who claim to know everything,
to know oneself,
and how little I knew you.
And if one day
I told you: did you notice how
our smile faded away
and the memory remained
of those afternoons by the river
with the sun in line?
What times,
what happy days!
However it was, I don't remember
and I don't want to remember,
but the sun shone
half on my face,
confining me to oblivion
without seeking your name
and to cry with you.
If there is a reunion
one bad day, it may,
maybe I can.
