Cancion Para Mi Sol
Fernando Delgadillo
Song For My Sun
The days that have sun
things are very different
here in the city,
I could believe that
even the sun itself has something to do
with the tones
that make the truth
that has not been seen
in a long time and that someone
keeps hidden in secret
darker than the names of the many
who live in this place.
The days that have sun
are seen through the windows
over a blue sky
you can see in the streets
yes, the days that have sun
flood me with sun and light.
I could start over with everything,
I could even believe everything that I no longer believe
I could say that Mexico is doing well
and never stop walking.
But in these times
the storm clouds are big
hiding good intentions
and the wind blows in many directions
at this moment when I no longer see
the path I should take.
And until when
can I call myself a citizen
free from a country
that I am proud of
but, I don't live happily.
Song for my sun
for that right that
the sun and the truth have,
the right to hope
without another speech
I want something I can touch,
to know that I live among brothers,
that there are no enemies
corrupting the youth,
that I inhabit a place that begins
and overflows with health.
But in these times
the storm clouds are big
covering any conviction
and the wind blows in many places
at this moment when the direction is no longer visible
that must be taken
and until when can you call yourself
a compatriot in favor of that peace
that has been maintained at the expense
of standing on others.
In those days
when the sun comes out,
even if you are far away,
I feel like you are here
and the cloudy days, my love!
have nothing to do with it,
you are always here
and wherever I go
I think about what a sunny day will be
when I knock on your door and look at my sun again!
