Son El Camino
Fernando Delgadillo
They Are The Way
Days have been passing by, pulling the road further away
Far from the hills and those old plots
That are familiar to me and that I learned to love
As I love and know everything that is gone
Days ago I was telling you that I'm moving away and breathing
Flowers from other gardens through the voice of other paths
That observe places and people who never
Remember the many who follow us behind
Whole afternoons go by as night approaches
Among bad omens and dark storm clouds
Hanging from the sky and hiding me from the sun
And making me think that maybe I'm the one who's not here
Days have passed since I stumble and cling to the journey
Under the sun's rays and the coolness of the frost
I know there are things that remain and things that pass
And among the things I think about, I think about going back home
So many days have passed since the distant moon
Has sneaked into the sky since earlier hours
And its light from an ancient and distant satellite
Illuminates me on nights of waning road
For a long time I can't satisfy these longings
That a love leaves hidden by distances
But nothing tells me what lies ahead
If it's the place I searched for or the end of the traveler
Who got lost in the landscape from so much walking
And from afar, I see them continuing their journey
The companion song, my guitar or cane
Dreams that were lost begging for forgiveness
That before leaving, forgetting is so cruel
And I'm dying in the distance these days on the road
It's been more than a hundred times a hundred since I last saw you
That the only thing that eases the pain is sighs
That I have forgotten the faces of those I love
And the pain and despair are not enough
And my eyes are flooded with thick drops
And the imaginations fly away
Back to the past, but they always reach me
Dreaming of the way back home
To go back home
To go back home
