In a coffee at dawn
A cowboy taking care of the cattle
Proud to be the owner of the herd
Another ox cart and a herd
And the beautiful sound of the 'cocão' music
A horse a saddle and a leather vest
A whip a spur and a legging

A tile and brick house
The kitchen made of mud without plaster
A coconut shell ladle
And a small oven for baking cakes
A corral made of stakes
And an old man dressed in 'azulão'
Big belly boots, big mustache
Riding on a spirited beast

The peasant hero of suffering
As soon as the boss goes to the market
He takes his donkey and goes too
To the city without resentment
There he ties up his donkey
Then goes in search of the boss
The donkey stays eating cardboard
Waiting for the owner to do the shopping

The chickens coming down from the roost
A pig snoring in the pigsty
With its long snout digging the ground
At the start a chestnut horse neighs
