Chez Laurette
Michel Delpech
At Laurette's Place
In the way she called us her kids
We could tell she loved us a lot
It was at her place that our pocket money
Disappeared into the slot machines
After classes, we would go for a drink
When we walked in, Laurette would smile
And suddenly our lessons, our problems
Would disappear when she kissed us
It was good, at Laurette's place
When we partied
She came to us.. Lau - rette
It was good, it was cool
When we were broke
She paid for us.. Lau - rette
And even more so that we could be at ease
In her café, there was a corner for us
We would sit there to watch the girls go by
And I know some of them we really liked
If by chance we were feeling down
Only Laurette knew how to console us
She would talk to us and we would still laugh
In the blink of an eye, she could change everything
It was good at Laurette's place
We will go back there
So we don't forget Laurette
It will be good, it will be cool
And we will talk again
About stories from the past
At Laurette's place
It will be good, it will be cool
And we will talk again
About stories from the past
At Laurette's place
