Um Jantar Para Jesus
Deluccas & Lucian
A Dinner for Jesus
I invited Jesus over for dinner at my place
I made a roasted chicken for the meal
I don’t have much
And everything is pretty simple
But I did my best to make it nice for Him
Everything's set and the table's ready
Someone knocked at the door, I rushed to see
It was a beggar, looking hungry
He asked me for something to eat
I thought, what should I do now?
If I take a piece, he’ll notice for sure
But I carefully took a leg from the chicken
And gave it to the beggar so he could eat
He left saying thank you
And that may his table never lack bread
Blessed is the man who shows charity
And carries love in his heart
I went back to check the table
To see if everything was in place
Suddenly, the door knocked again
I thought, it’s Jesus who just arrived
When I opened it, I saw a child
All ragged and standing on the floor
Her eyes were asking for more than food
That I also give her some attention
I went to the table, grabbed another leg
Quickly, the child devoured it
I saw the joy shining on her face
When with a smile, she thanked me
Thank you so much, may God bless you
And may your table never lack bread
Blessed is the man who shows charity
And carries love in his heart
Some time passed, and Jesus arrived
And sat at the table for the meal
He looked at the chicken, and I said, eat up
I was shocked when He said no
Still confused, I said, my Lord
I made you a whole chicken
But let me explain
And He interrupted me before I could
Looking into my eyes, He began to speak
I’m satisfied with the two legs
Of this roasted chicken you prepared
Today, I knocked on your door twice
I was hungry, and you fed me
Everything you do for the poor and the small
You do for me because they are my brothers
Blessed is the man who shows charity
And carries love in his heart
Everything you do for the poor and the small
You do for me because they are my brothers
Blessed is the man who shows charity
And carries love in his heart
