Maria
Demis Roussos
Maria
With her eyes,
She touched me
And the fire reached me,
She danced for me and the party began between us.
The Mexican sun stopped on her body,
She took me gently and I didn't say no.
A Madonna painting
Her face seemed to me,
I don't know if she was a woman,
She taught me to make love,
Then tenderly the night lent us a big bed
And her name I always shouted.
I never forget Maria,
The only love of my life.
I never forget Maria,
Your memory my poetry.
Her gestures,
Her kisses,
I know them by heart now,
With closed eyes, in the dark, I would recognize her.
Following that somewhat wild perfume she has,
I would hold her tight again.
I never forget Maria,
The only love of my life.
I never forget Maria,
Your memory a poem
