A Dor Na Cruz
Dinamite Barros
The Pain on the Cross
That heavy cross
On his shoulders he carried
Bearing great pain
Receiving lashes
Being spat on and humiliated
Yet, he did not complain
He died crucified
With hands and feet nailed
For loving the sinner
He went through this dilemma
That scene was powerful
When to the Father he spoke
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit
And having said this, he breathed his last
The earth trembled, the sun darkened
Nature wept, the temple veil tore
When he breathed his last
That bloodied body
Was wrapped in a shroud
By the hands of a senator
And then placed
In a borrowed tomb
The innocent savior
It was the third day
The tomb was empty
When Mary arrived
Everything was silent
At that moment
An angel asked her
Mary, why do you seek the living among the dead?
Jesus Christ the Nazarene, he is not here, for he has risen
He has risen, he has risen
Jesus Christ the Nazarene, who died crucified
He has already risen
He has risen, he has risen
It was the third day, the tomb was empty
Because Jesus has risen
