Triste Realidad
Domingo Quiñones
Sad Reality
How to express, what is felt in the heart
When living a life full of injustices without pain
When the death of a child
Is in the news sensation
And no explanations are found
Much less the solution
It's not easy to be happy
When one can't understand
How that person you loved the most
Is now just part of yesterday
And today would give even life
To change this situation
Surely I would give it if God asked me to
I'm tired of seeing how
We destroy ourselves day after day
Of seeing how we usually split
Between drugs and AIDS
And if today my soul wants to scream
It's because it can't take it anymore
What I tell you is not fantasy
It's our sad reality
I'm tired of living
With the fear that one day
Love won't be talked about
But hatred and lies will
And if today my soul wants to scream
It's because it can't take it anymore
What I tell you is not fantasy
It's simply our sad reality
It's not easy to wake up
With this sad dawn
Full of so many realities
That we no longer want to see
And today I ask what would you give
To change this situation
I would give everything, all my life
If that were the solution
I'm tired of seeing how
We destroy ourselves day after day
Of seeing how we usually split
Between drugs and AIDS
And if today my soul wants to scream
It's because it can't take it anymore
What I tell you is not fantasy
It's our sad reality
I'm tired of living
With the fear that one day
Love won't be talked about
But hatred and lies will
And if today my soul wants to scream
It's because it can't take it anymore
What I tell you is not fantasy
It's simply our sad reality
(It's our sad reality)
It's sad to see what's happening
(It's our sad reality)
How our own humanity is fading away
(It's our sad reality)
We won't last long if this continues
(It's our sad reality)
In our community, children dying of hunger
(It's our sad reality)
And if you squeeze the newspapers, blood spills
(It's our sad reality)
That wasn't God's plan
(It's our sad reality)
But that we loved each other in unity and brotherhood
(It's our sad reality)
Where will we end up if this continues
