Mis Raices
Dos Carnales
My Roots
I'm ready to work
I don't have time to get tangled up
Much less to walk with envy
If they are going to respect me face to face
And bark behind my back
I must know that's how life is
If we were born among goats and cows
Why do they hallucinate me
Gentleman in personality
Because that's how my dad taught me
Not to let it get to my head
Of all the things you'll say
What comes out of your throat
Is held by your teeth
That's why I'm not ordinary
Not offending those present
We are from wide-brimmed hats
From sandals and ranch
Humbly is the foundation
With the strap in dusty streets
With all the young people
Terrified and happy
But the best of my Roots
Is that I'm never ashamed
(And don't back down, young people)
(Pure Dos Carnales gentlemen)
The shacks and royal roads
The canals and walnut trees
Were part of my book
I'm not a man who fights a lot
But to be able to take care of myself
That's why I carry a little iron
Respect is a great and good friend
And I tell it like it is
I never fall behind
We are men, not clowns
True ranchers and with manners
My elders took good care of me
They instilled good upbringing in me
My respects to my parents
They also told me to stay sharp
If they want to harm you
Fly little dove, you who are very aligned
Go and tell all the young people
Being born in humble cradle is part of the teaching
Just so those who deny their race get motivated
