Um Jantar Pra Jesus
Duduca & Dalvan
A Dinner for Jesus
I invited Jesus to have dinner at my house
I prepared a roasted chicken for dinner
I don't have much
And everything is very simple
But I did everything to please you
Everything prepared and the table set
Someone knocked on the door, I ran to answer
It was a beggar and he was hungry
He asked me for something to eat
I thought, what should I do now?
If I take a piece, he will notice
But I gently took a chicken leg
And gave it to the beggar for him to eat
He left saying thank you
And may bread never be lacking on his table
Happy is the man who has charity
And brings love in his heart
I went in to check the table
To see if everything was in place
Suddenly, there was another knock on the door
I thought it was Jesus who had just arrived
When I opened, I saw a child
All ragged and barefoot
Her eyes asked for more than food
They also asked for a little attention
I went to the table, took another leg
The child ate very quickly
I saw the joy on her face
When she thanked me with a smile
Thank you very much, may God bless you
And may bread never be lacking on your table
Happy is the man who has charity
And brings love in his heart
Some time passed, Jesus arrived
And sat at the table for the meal
He looked at the chicken and I said, eat
And I was surprised when he said no
Still confused, I said, My Lord
I made a whole chicken for you!
But I'll explain
And he interrupted me before I could explain
Looking into my eyes, he began to speak
I am satisfied with the two legs
Of this roasted chicken you prepared for me
Today I knocked on your door twice
I was hungry and you fed me
Whatever you do to the poor and the little ones
You do it to me because they are my brothers
Happy is the man who has charity
And brings love in his heart
