Why do I sing bambucos
They ask me around
If it's the music of yesteryear that few want to hear today
Why do I go through my land eager to share
To the beat of a song, the joy of living
And my way of feeling?

Because when I sing bambucos nothing is far
I travel through the mountains, the old roads
I cover myself with the dust of its paths
Inhaling in the air a thousand new verses

And when I meet my people who love what is ours
My whole soul expands singing to the sky
The notes of a beautiful and festive bambuco
And the ancestor of my people runs through my veins
