Hasta Que La Luz Nos Despierte

Until the Light Wakes Us Up
I’ve called the voicemail,
after taking out the trash;
I’ve buried the bad memories
and slept on top of them;
I’ve damned myself,
every single day.
I’ve waited with the doors wide open,
for someone to steal my life;
and I’ve burned the calendars,
to lose my memory.
A shipwreck here or there,
for Friday night;
and some souls drowned,
in seas of frozen gin.
I’m tired of not arriving,
to the stop of the moon in your eyes;
stay with me tonight,
til the light wakes us up.
I’ve waited with the doors wide open,
for someone to steal my life;
and I’ve burned the calendars,
to lose my memory.
I’m tired of not arriving,
to the stop of the moon in your eyes;
stay with me tonight,
til the light wakes us up.
