January 6th
The morning was beautiful, it was Three Kings' Day
The laughter of children filled the air
Each with the gift that the Magi had given them
For being good and obedient, they were rewarded
But one boy was poor, still good and obedient
Not receiving a gift left him feeling low
"Why, dear Mom, do the Kings from the East
Not bring me a little present, oh why do they go?
I, Mommy, am better than Antonio and Andresito
And many of my friends, I’m the best you know
How mean are the Kings, they didn’t bring me a toy car!
Buy me one, Mommy, I really want it so!
So the poor boy complains, with no love and no praise
His father was a tyrant, never showed him care
And that terrible orphanhood has no Magi for him
To give him a little gift on January 6th, it’s just not fair.
