Blas

Blas
Just taking my steps
When I was already fishing with my old man
For a plate of warm food
And to be able to bring it to my brothers
The sun was blazing
So one day I decided to enlist in the navy
I always dreamed of being a captain
And being able to give my old man happiness
But the good didn't come
Because it takes a lot of time and sacrifice
I threw the helm heading to Guadalajara
Someone told me come here, there's a little business
And how to say no
If damn money is needed for everything
And those vast waters that I knew well
I claimed them because my father said I was the owner
They called me Blas
They called me Blas
That Monday with honors
When I felt what it's like to carry my flag
And although I always thought of serving my country
But you know that you can't play around with hunger
Enough of regrets
Success here is for those who study
I never saw that steel bird
Approaching our boats very quickly
And suddenly gray ships
Were approaching rapidly from both sides
Long live Mexico I shouted with rifle in hand
With the honor that the navy taught me
And amidst the dust clouds
Bullets of honor shattered my body
I didn't realize I was sinking in the water
And there all my dreams ended
And they called me Blas
They called me Blas
