Me Aventé
Eden Muñoz
I Took the Plunge
I made sure, I looked for it as much as I could and things didn't work out
What do you do if you hear: We're hungry, and you don't even have a penny in your pocket?
I sold the little I had to complete the journey
Knowing that staying on the road was going to be the most likely
With a lot of faith, I asked the one above for the journey to be short
I also looked for a thousand excuses and no way between the borders
In a backpack a pair of sneakers, dreams, prayers from my mother
I said 'It's now, all or nothing' and we moved forward
And I took the plunge four days without water, on foot
Thank God I made it, now I know what I'm here for
To make money to help my parents there
And I took the plunge like that, without speaking English
I started from scratch
I know, it will be a long time before I see them again
That's life, but a thousand times I prefer
That they miss me than suffer for money
And there goes my countryman
It's your buddy Eden Muñoz
Ajay, old man!
