In chapter two of Acts
A beautiful fact occurred,
Suddenly a vehement wind
Filled the whole house;
And divine tongues of fire
Were seen upon each of them,
And the promises made in Joel
Jehovah fulfilled there.

Flames of the spirit
Flames of the power of God
Come to burn, burn.
Life belongs to those
Who desire to overcome, doing good
To make the church grow, flames of the spirit
Flames of the power of God. END

There in the early church
Among humble Galileans,
The power of our God came
Upon the living church;
For the church is not cold
Nor is it lukewarm,
The living church is hot
Its warmth comes from faith.

This powerful fire
Burns in the present church,
Burns throughout the world
This Pentecostal fire;
This fire purifies
Fruitful and brings good,
Flames of the spirit
Come to burn in me too.
