I still hear the siren
Of the beautiful white ship
That for many weeks now
Has been sailing from the Windward Islands
When at high tide
It entered the old port
I laughed, I was happy
And my heart was pounding hard

The wind sang on the dune
And played with the sea
Where the moon was reflected
In the sky everything was clear
The first to come ashore
Was a young sailor
The second an old grandpa
Then a man with three stripes

Give me, oh captain
Of the beautiful white ship
That came from distant seas
A handsome sailor for a lover
I'll wait for him on the dune

We were alone on the dune
The wind caressed the sea

He left on his ship
His beautiful white ship

One evening at sunset

Of the boat that took him away
Its voice howled inhumanly
