Paris-Méditerranée

Paris-Mediterranean
It's a strange adventure
As the train left the station
The man jumped into the aisle
With his forehead against the window
He watched the light fade away
From Paris dying in the evening.
A train in the night takes you away,
Behind you, dead loves,
But you still want to love again.
The sad suburbs that are bored
Passed by drearily in the rain...
He kept looking outside.
The train rolled through the dark night,
The man was already just a shadow,
And being alone made me cold.
If he spoke... what could he have said?...
I only see his smile
When he came to sit by me.
A train in the night takes you away,
Behind you, dead loves,
And in the heart, a vague boredom.
Then his hand took mine,
And I was scared the day would come...
I felt so good pressed against him.
When I woke up
In a sunny station
The stranger jumped onto the platform.
Then men surrounded him
And with heads down, they took him away
As the train pulled out.
I looked through the window,
Like in a gesture of prayer
The man reached out his hands to me.
The sun doubled my pain
And made chains shimmer...
He might have been a killer.
There are strange people
On trains and in stations.
