The Chat
It's stirred, it's chatted, it's talked,
It's debated like a convict, like a 'cricket',
And even if the crowd boos and whistles,
The smooth talker is a cool guy.
If he's a winner, he's a tough guy and not a coward,
They sing for the lame noodle,
And there's every scary, sharp-tongued person,
Sharper than a long pumpkin.
The sly chat is a piece of cake,
Any fool the 'extra' repertoire,
And it's respected when spoken by a man,
Sometimes if another guy outsmarts me,
There's a showdown program in the brothel,
Or it's signed with a knife in the graffiti.
