Amada Mía

El Barrio El Barrio

My Beloved

January, February, and March, what three months of melancholy
Late April of May, I see life so flourishing
In June my years come, always inviting the welcome
July, August I spend dreaming of being September and its quirks
And already in October, November, and December
The streets remain sad and empty

Let's see what I can come up with to tell you in this song
That I have never told you love in a lifetime
You know that I express myself in my own way
But what matters to me is still feeling it
The moment of seeing you for the first time felt eternal
Time was against me

I wanted it to pass quickly but when I saw you, I wanted to stop it
But you know, love, that's impossible
I remember the day you kissed me, my body fell apart
I didn't envy happiness
Since I was flying so high
Like the moon that gave us that night

Morning bird, who rises early
Take my caresses to the feet of her window
Because morning bird that flies so high
Bring me her smile with her kisses and her I love yous

Sometimes, my love, I felt like I was running out of air
That my body abhorred the distant synonym
That in my fears I roamed if I had to forget you
I thought every time I was alone
Even looking at myself in the mirror, poor naive boy
Who never learned from a stick
Not even the protocol of good and bad

Morning bird, who rises early
Take my caresses to the feet of her window
Because morning bird that flies so high
Bring me her smile with her kisses and her I love yous

Morning bird, if you want to know what I feel
I live the months of the year always tied to these verses
January, February, and March, what three months of melancholy
Late April of May, I see life so flourishing

In June my years come, always inviting the welcome
July, August I spend dreaming of being September and its quirks
And already in October, November
And December the streets remain sad and empty
This is how the months of the year pass, this is how my poetry walks
Between truths and disappointments, between your arms my beloved (repeat)

When you wanted to play with dolls
Your dolls came to life
You grew up among princess tales
And your tale saw its favorite girl
Dressed in mother's clothes in lands of light and salt flats
In the hands of a destiny that clarifies if you are a girl
Life, beloved, mother, friend

Morning bird, who rises early
Take my caresses to the feet of her window
Because morning bird that flies so high
Bring me her smile with her kisses and her I love yous
This is how the months of the year pass, this is how my poetry walks
Between truths and disappointments, between your arms my beloved
