Party Without a Pot
Life's a real struggle
On birthdays, there's no food to juggle
Now they just set up a buffet
Even if you starve, that's okay
Lots of snacks, with sweet treats
And those little bites, they can't be beat
There's candy from every brand
The one who eats the most is Mrs. Hand
No more pisco served in a pitcher
Now they just offer purple corn, what a switcher
So many tablecloths, but they're all cheap
Ask for smokes from Don Miguel, don't be meek
They crank the record player up high
The neighbors are screaming, oh my!
To have a good time, you gotta drink
But first, you need to collect, don't you think?
Life's a real struggle
On birthdays, there are no gifts to snuggle
They just say, "Happy Birthday to you"
But they drag you along to Auntie's too
And the kids dance with such flair
But they can't even pay for the fare
And with a bang, they grab the broom
The owner of the house heads to her room
Oh, how I remember the carnivals
That Meche Rosales used to call
Those wild parties, breaking the rules
And they fought without any tools
Oh, how I remember the good old days
One small room, but what a craze
They served three plates, chicken and duck
But there wasn't much to show, just bad luck.
