Semilla de Pueblo
El Chaqueño Palavecino
Seed of the Town
I'm a horse without an owner
relative of the wind
coplero and bagualero
from deep in the woods.
From a suffering ranch
in the Salta Chaco
wet from Pilcomayo
I bring the hat.
The moonlit nights
take away my sleep
behind an impossible
that I'm following.
I'm a weathered mountain
seed of the town
rolling is my destiny
like the Bermejo.
From the fox, from the puma
I have their tricks
when I desire something
there are no fences for me.
Years of drought
burn me inside
and in love I live
rejuvenating.
The axes strike
just like time
splinter of quebracho
I'm turning into.
