Del Algarrobo al Ombu
El Chaqueño Palavecino
From the Carob Tree to the Ombu Tree
I sing to you like a laurel my cry
for the dream that in my song I dream
and this pride of being Argentine
Argentine is to say guitarist and singer.
Southern in the north, northern in the south
for me the carob tree is the same as the ombu.
The homeland has always been from north to south
just one, nothing more than one
a gaucho mother who shelters brothers
brothers who together we must walk.
There are two trees in my guitar
erect land of the same land
if the homeland is divided love
I also divide my own heart.
I don't intend to conquer the sky
with the prayer that in my nights I pray
and the notes that in my song, I sing
do not seek glory but illusion.
