How eternal are my nights
how slow my agony
how sad my life
living thinking of you

because without hope
living is torment
and you in my thoughts
make my suffering worse

how long are the hours
how dark my insomnia
what great sorrow
to think that I lost you

I wish to forget you
erase you from my dreams
but it's a vain effort
to forget you

like those swallows
searching for spring
that enchanting girl
one day said goodbye
you left forever
flew away from my side
and only left
memories of your love
