El Árbol de La Sombra
El Fantasma
The Shadow Tree
Always leaning on the tree
When it has good shade
But if it's dry
There's never anyone to water it
There are many people
Who lean when it suits them
They come close to what's swept
If it's dirty, they never come
You reap what you sow
Says a well-known saying
Money runs out
It's better to have friends
When I deny them greetings
It's because they've deserved it
All those who are common
Are not welcome here
I always offer my hand
Without looking at the wallet
Those who come in peace
Walk on the sidewalk
But those who grab thorns
Never have good intentions
I have well recognized
The trail of snakes
With fingers on the hand
Friends are few
And I have several fingers left
That's well recognized
Those to whom you lend a hand
Have rarely helped you
But here we are muleteers
And we walk the path
You reap what you sow
Says a well-known saying
Money runs out
It's better to have friends
When I deny them greetings
It's because they've deserved it
All those who are common
Are not welcome here
I always offer my hand
Without looking at the wallet
Those who come in peace
Walk on the sidewalk
But those who grab thorns
Never have good intentions
I have well recognized
The trail of snakes
