El corrido de mi baica roja
El Morro
The Ballad of My Red Bike
This is the ballad
of my red bike
that one Sunday morning
as I was heading out to see my girl
my boss sent me for a cold one
feeling bummed out
I asked for the cash
and packed the bottles in the basket
I rode to the corner store
but it was dry and they wouldn't sell
Pedaling slowly
I reached Santa Tere
but even at the market they had none
I was getting hungry
my stomach was growling
and I arrived at Poncho Brambila's sandwiches
I headed towards Hidalgo
crossed the avenue
then a minibus almost ran me over
feeling the urge to go number two
I went into the bathrooms at San Juan de Dios
Around 11 I got to Tlaquepaque
and almost got lost in San Pedrito
it was getting dark
and the liquor stores were closed
I went to Plutarco's
then all the way to El Salate
and finally got some at a little shop
I left four skid marks on the pavement
from all the dogs chasing me
I got out as best as I could
from Santa Chila
and in Jalisco they were knocking me down
This was the ballad
of my red bike
that I rode out one Sunday from Santa Mago
