Colombian rap
This is Colombian rap, so you know my brother
Here's a rapper who's rapping to you
So you start listening, it's playing here
Tell me what you think of what I bring
Here I am representing, I say present and raise my hand
They call me and I step forward
This is neighborhood rap, I rap daily
You want to know about Colombian rap, here we present it to you
Let's move forward, we give you good vibes
And we enjoy it, here we are
We export rap, we reach outside
Wherever you are, there's a Colombian
And we always make it out of the stadium
You don't know about Colombian rap, here we show it to you
This is the story
Of Colombian hiphop
It started in the 80s with the ethnicity
From there comes all this around
And that's how bands began to form
In these Colombian lands
In the 80s the rap music scene
Began to consolidate in marginalized neighborhoods
In cities like Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla
And of course Bogotá
The dances that resulted in the cinema made
That some young people began to transform
The organized violence into gang forms
To become break dance collectives
In the midst of a country where drug trafficking was
The center of attention and where young people found themselves
In the balance of drugs and crime
The first rap bands began to appear
That gave those same young people another view of the social
Or perhaps the same view but with the possibility
That music could become a way out
Thus they appear on the scene in cities like Bogotá
Drops of rap, the ethnicity
Gangster race and low style bands
That over time would consolidate
As the most important in the national hiphop scene
A few years later in 1999
In the city of Medellín especially in the neighborhood of Aranjuez
The Alcolyrikoz appear
Consolidated today
As one of the flagship bands of the hiphop movement
Throughout the national territory
To all those who are part of the urban movement
