San Juanico
El Tri
San Juanico
It was November 19th
As dawn was breaking
A loud explosion was heard
That made the earth tremble
A gas explosion
Made the north of the city shake
Thousands of children and families
Were left homeless
Some were just
Leaving for work
Others were still
Sleeping
And felt nothing
And without seeing it or feeling it
They ceased to exist
When it's your time, it's your time
What can we do
All the bodies charred
Impossible to recognize
All the houses demolished
Had to be torn down
That day will never
Be erased from our minds
When a strong gas explosion
Shook the north of the city
Now they want to turn that place
Into a park
Since the child is drowned
Now the well
They want to cover
Better to compensate
Those who were left homeless
And intensify security measures
When a strong gas explosion
Shook the north of the city
It was November 19th
As dawn was breaking
A loud explosion was heard
That made the earth tremble
A gas explosion
Made the north of the city shake
Thousands of children and families
Were left homeless
Brothers, we must
Thank God
For being able to live another day
Because none of us
Knows how or when
Or where it will be our turn
You could drown
In a pool
Or in any bar
You may go to bed tonight
And never wake up again
Brothers, we must
Thank God
For being able to live another day
Because none of us
Knows how or when
Or where it will be our turn
You could die in an accident
Or from an illness
Or you may go to bed tonight
And never wake up again
You may fall asleep tonight
And never wake up again
