Chilango Incomprendido
El Tri
Misunderstood Chilango
No one told him to leave his home
No one told him what to do
He left on a Sunday as dawn was breaking
And they never saw him again
He left his town because he had no job
He came to hustle in the big city
Here in Mexico City, he's done it all
Even been a drug dealer and a robber
Chilango, misunderstood Chilango
Chilango, forced by necessity
He cruises around in a convertible car
In any subway or on any avenue
In that car during the day he sells juices and at night he sells hot dogs
Chilango, determined Chilango
Chilango, forced by necessity
Many jack-of-all-trades, who arrive
Daily here, we no longer fit
We no longer fit
Back in his town he lived like a boss
Survived easily
Here in Mexico City he works like a slave
And doesn't even have enough to eat
