I was dreaming nightmares
when the phone rang
I got up cursing
the hangover hit me
but when I picked up the receiver
that idiot hung up
I refined my breakfast
a beer and a hot dog
everything was still half raw
and I felt like having a little nap
but when trying to open the jar
it slipped and fell
it was just another day in life
that passed without glory or shame
time money and effort went down the drain
if I had known better
I would have stayed in bed
I had a date with a hottie
I met at a party
we had agreed to meet
and the deal was sealed
but I arrived late to the date
and that hottie left
I arrived like three hours late
and couldn't make it up
the subway broke down
I got home very late
because the cops caught me
it was just another day in life
