Querida Milagros
El Ultimo De La Fila
Dear Miracles
This morning when we went out on patrol,
we found soldier Adrian dead.
As the regulations dictate, we proceeded to search
for the objects he carried. We only found this letter:
"Dear Miracles, I've been here for six days.
I miss you, I can't live without you.
I've seen the explosions shining around me.
I'm scared, I don't hide it, your love is all I have left.
For now, luck has smiled upon me;
I need to see you, there are no friends here;
it wouldn't hurt if someone explained to me,
what does this have to do with you and me.
Dear Miracles, there's so much left to live.
It would be absurd to leave everything here.
Dear Miracles, I still haven't been able to sleep.
A cold dream warns me that the end is near.
When you read this letter, talk to the stars,
since I arrived here, I've only spoken to them.
I've seen men cry like children;
I've seen death like a strange bird,
quietly glide over the roads,
devour a sun that is yours and mine.
"Dear Miracles, I've been here for six days.
I miss you, I can't live without you.
"Dear Miracles, I've been here for six days.
Many have died, almost all will die.
Dear Miracles, I have to say goodbye,
always yours:
your soldier Adrian
