Prohibido prohibir

Forbidden to forbid
You cannot forbid, nor can you deny
the right to live, the reason to dream...
You cannot forbid, believing or creating,
nor exclude the earth, nor hide the moon...
You cannot forbid, even a bit of love,
nor avoid the flower sprouting...
Neither the soul's vibration, nor the pulse's beat,
nor life in its journey... You cannot forbid.
You cannot forbid, the choice to think
nor can you prevent, the storm in the sea...
You cannot forbid, that in an inner flight
a sparrow when leaving, seeks a better sky...
You cannot forbid, the vital impulse,
nor the drop of honey, nor the grain of salt...
Nor the unstoppable urge, nor the endless desire
to laugh, to cry, you cannot forbid.
You cannot forbid, the iridescent color
of the evening dying, in the sunset.
You cannot forbid, the eagerness to sing,
nor the duty to say what should not be silenced...
Only the man incapable of understanding, of feeling
has managed, in the end, to forbid his greatness,
and denies the taste and the simple truth,
of living in love and in total freedom...
If I had the power to decide...
I would dictate a law... It is forbidden to forbid!
