The friend I found surprised me
When everyone left me, He welcomed me
And healed my wounds, freed me from the chains
I told Him about my dilemma and He listened to me
I told Him about my past and He forgave me
It had a high price that He already paid
He showed me His wounded hands out of love for many lives
And one of those many lives was me
Who in this world can have such great love
To give their own life without fear?
Who has felt the pain of being nailed to a cross
Paying for mistakes they didn't make?
And to look into the eyes of those who hurt Him so much
And offer forgiveness without resentment
Who can be a better friend than the Lord
Who renounced His own life for the servant?
