O Rei dos Judeus

Eliã Oliveira Eliã Oliveira

The King of the Jews

I will tell you the story of the love of a king
A holy project from God
He had no beauty or comeliness
No graduation ring
On his fingers

At only twelve years old he ministered
To doctors and men of the law
His fame was recorded wherever he went
For miracles that only he performed

He left friends wherever he went
He taught to break bread, spoke of love
He was not rich nor a commoner
But he was the son of God
Jesus, our savior

His best friend betrayed him
The master was on trial
The voice of the crowd was heard: Release Barabbas!
And they decided to crucify an innocent

Even Peter, his faithful disciple, denied him
And said: I do not know him and have never seen him before
They placed a crown of thorns on him
They gave him vinegar when he was thirsty
They killed our Lord

It was for me and for you
That my Jesus died
Even though condemned, he was wounded and humiliated
As a guilty one undeserving

For loving the whole world
It was that my Jesus died, It was all finished
When he said: It is finished
The earth then trembled

That's when they realized
That they had killed the wrong man
And someone terrified shouted: My God!
Truly he was the king of the Jews!

He was taken to the tomb, but it was already decreed
That it was only for three days, he would descend into the abyss
After taking the keys of death
And of hell, Jesus rose again!

And it happened that while Mary was weeping
She saw two angels dressed in white
Sitting on the stone that had already been removed
And they said to her: Woman, why are you weeping?
And she said to them: Because they have taken away my Lord
And I do not know where they have laid him
And having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there
But she did not know it was the master
And suddenly, she heard a familiar voice saying: Mary!
Turning back, she said: Master!
Jesus said to her: Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father
But go to my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father
Your father; my God, your God!
And she left amazed saying: The master is alive! He has risen!

Peter, John, Philip, Andrew!
Jesus is alive!
I spoke with him, he lives!
He conquered death
He is no longer in the tomb
The tomb is empty!
Jesus has risen!
He lives! He lives!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
He has risen!
