Soberano Deus
Eliã Oliveira
Sovereign God
Job was at home
Everything was calm
A messenger arrived
Bringing him the terrible news
Your cattle were plowing
Your flock grazing
Enemies came and took your animals away!
While he spoke
Another said this way
Fire fell from the sky
Burned everything you had
Only I remained!
Another one arrives saying
A wind came blowing
The house collapsed
Your children died
I escaped to tell
In the midst of all this God still allowed
The enemy to touch his health and hurt him
And now his wife asks him
How can you? Maintain your integrity
Curse your God and die!
Job replied
You speak like a foolish woman no curse will be heard from my mouth!
Everything I had God gave me and wanted to take
Naked I came from my mother's womb
And naked I will return there!
I know that my redeemer lives
And at the right time he will rise
All this glory and greatness
I only observed
When I went through the trial
And approached you
What I only heard from you
Now I can contemplate
Today I know that he lives in me
I see his glory everywhere!
In the valley
On the mountain
On the horizon
In the vast sea
In the blowing wind
In the barren woman who can conceive
In the shining star
In the Sun that appears bringing warmth
In the voice of the child who has in his mouth the perfect praise
He establishes the earth on nothing
Who can understand?
Makes clouds hold the waters
Without tearing or breaking!
I know well that you can do everything
And none of your plans
Can be hindered
For you are sovereign God
He restored to me double
What the enemy took from me
I live to say
Blessed be the name of the Lord!
I acknowledge that for You
Nothing is impossible
And that none of your plans
Can be hindered
Believe! He will fulfill his promises
And bring provision
