Vencendo de Pé

Standing Tall
So spoke King Nebuchadnezzar
To all the prefects, the presidents
Judges, treasurers, counselors
Officials and all the governors of the provinces
Servants, slaves, free, parents, children
Race, tribe, everyone in the courtyard
Of King Nebuchadnezzar's palace
To worship the statue he had set up
For his own glory
And anyone who does not bow down before the statue
Will be thrown into the blazing furnace
So said the king, so it will be done
And there were the three
Full of anointing and conviction from head to toe
One looking at the other, saying
We will not bow down
Even if it costs our lives, we will be faithful
Preparations begin for the band to play
And with each passing minute, their faith increases
And when the band played
Everyone bowed down at once
But in the midst of the crowd, the three remained standing
Quickly someone saw and went to inform the king
Did you not command to bow down?
But there are people there who do not obey
Even though threatened with the furnace, they stay there
With a different shine even in their eyes
And standing in the crowd, they remain
Call them here for us to talk
For I want to see who will save them
Bring them before me
And I will show who is in charge in this place
And here come the three firm, without fear
And they did not care to live or die
Indignant, King Nebuchadnezzar began to say
Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
That you do not worship my gods?
Nor do you adore the golden image I commanded to be raised?
For now
When you hear the instruments play
If you are willing to bow down on the ground
And worship the image I made, it will be better for you
But if you do not worship, you will be immediately thrown
Into the fiery furnace
And what god can save you from my hands?
We do not need to answer you, O king
The God of heaven is the one who can save us
And if not, know, O king
We will not serve your gods
Nor will we bow down
And they were thrown into the fiery furnace
But something surprising happened
The fourth man arrived there first
To save the three young men
And they walked in the midst of the fire
And the king, frightened, makes a new decree
From now on, we will only worship the God of heaven
The world bowing down and the church standing tall
Standing tall, standing tall, standing tall
The church does not bow down
The world bowing down and the church standing tall
Standing tall, standing tall, standing tall
And victory is ours
The world persecuting and the church standing tall
The world insisting and the church standing tall
The world oppressing and the church standing tall, standing tall, standing tall
The church will remain standing
The world bowing down and the church standing tall
Standing tall, standing tall, standing tall
The church does not bow down
The world bowing down and the church standing tall
Standing tall, standing tall, standing tall
And victory is ours
The world persecuting and the church standing tall
The world insisting and the church standing tall
The world oppressing and the church standing tall, standing tall, standing tall
The church will remain standing
