Looks Can Be Deceiving
Looks can be deceiving
To those who hate and to those who love
Because love and hate are brothers
In the fire of passions
Hearts catch fire
And then there's nothing to put them out
If the combustion pursues them
The flames and embers are
The nourishment, the poison, the bread
The dry wine, the memory
Of times gone by in communion
Dreams lived together
Looks can be deceiving
To those who hate and to those who love
Because love and hate are brothers
In the glacier of passions
Hearts turn to ice
And then there's nothing to thaw them
If the snow, covering the skin
Is chilling the being inside
There's no more way to warm up
There's no more time to heat up
There's nothing else to do
But cry under the blanket
Looks can be deceiving
To those who freeze and to those who inflame
Because fire and ice are brothers
In the autumn of passions
Hearts chop wood
And then prepare for another winter
But the summer that united them
Still lives and sweats there
In bodies together by the fireplace
In the hesitant spring
In the insistent perfume
Of something called love
