A Verdade

The truth, everyone says they want the truth
But I will speak with sincerity
Many prefer to deceive themselves with lies
Because they can't handle the truth
And Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life
And no one comes to the Father except through me
No one comes to the Father without the truth

The truth is that Jesus is coming back
And many people are playing with their salvation
The truth is that we claim
To love a God we've never seen without loving our brother
The truth is that we preach holiness
With great eloquence but without sanctification

The truth is that some are confusing
Ministry and calling with self-promotion
The truth is that we crucify Peter
For sinking into the waves and Thomas' disbelief
But in truth, we lack sincerity
To ask Christ to increase our faith

If the people wanted the truth
They would accept Christ and not Barabbas
If love were greater than money
Judas wouldn't betray the one he claimed to love
If truth were the priority
Even our messages would have to change
We would silence our will
And listen to what God wants to say

The truth, no one comes to me without the truth
I want a people who truly love me
What good is raising your hands
If there is no sincerity in your worship

The truth in speaking the truth in giving
In closing your eyes to worship my name
Be true when you approach my altar
And do not speak in my name if I have not sent you
The truth in the word the truth in praise
The truth in prayer and in using your gifts
To come to me you must enter through the way
Receive life and live the truth
Jesus is the truth!
