Cantoria Pastoral
Elomar Figueira Melo
Pastoral Cantoria
Heard on the shepherds' viola
Dreamy bards who gather stars
That in the morning of time
One day she came to earth
Shone in a golden pot
To reveal treasures
That men do not have
Spoke of worlds of a thousand moons
Beautiful naked goddesses
Nuns of the astral
Who in dimensions beyond love
Beyond also good and evil
Over the waves of light they shepherd stars
From the Paternal House
Sad eyes the color of boron
Her body was of gold and beryl
In songs they sing that she was beautiful
Even more beautiful than imagination
Does not create and fades away
In repeated nymphs, in naiads of light
Naiads of light, naiads of light
Madonna lady of love
I too am a sad shepherd
After the day darkened for her
She lives with an empty face towards the sky
Scratching the viola only for the Three Marys
Only for the Seven Stars, for the Guiding Star
Questioning the time
And the space where you are
Lady of the stars
Pierces the sky in an instant
And comes to my window
That your loving shepherd
Does not die without seeing you
Heard on the shepherds' viola
Slow singers who from the high heavens
Wait for the bread that kills hunger
And call the stars by strange names
That on the Way of Saint James
There reigns a maiden
Inhuman and beautiful in the yellow star
Of the magi from Bethlehem
